Ruby on Rails

Thanks for your answer! but
gem install mysql2 gives me ERROR, it says me this long message:
ERROR :failed to built gem native extensions.
/usr/bin/ruby1.8 extconf.rb
extconf.rb:2:in 'require': no such file to load --mkmf (LoadError) from
extconf.rb:2

Gem files remain installed in /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mysql2-0.2.6
for inspection.
Results logged to
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mysql2-0.2.6/ext/mysql2/gem_make.out

and I've no idea of what i should do!
