Excellent catch. I extended my local list of unusual inflections in
config/initializers.

ActiveSupport::Inflector.inflections do |inflect|
inflect.irregular 'media', 'medias'
inflect.irregular 'missive', 'missives'
inflect.irregular 'criterion', 'criteria'
end
