Are you using Rails 2 or 3? The plugin system is deprecated for Rails 3. You need to add it to your gemfile. run bundle install and then follow the rest of the instructions.


If you want something simpler for just displaying events though, you can use https://github.com/watu/table_builder there's a great rails cast on how to do that here: http://railscasts.com/episodes/213-calendars
